Charles Schwab now charges $8.95 per trade. Fidelity's at $7.95. Fidelity offers free
trading on 25 ETF's. You can get a free app for your iPhone, no less. The message is
clear. It is neither necessary nor a good idea to employ the services of a Financial
Advisor. Will this new wave of price slashing lure away your clients? Where does it
end? Better yet, how do you compete?
You have to know your competition and you have to respect your competition. You
do not have to give way to your competition. Investing success has nothing to do
with cheap commissions. Investing success has everything to do with proper advice.
Nobody's goal should be to get the cheapest financial advice possible. I don't believe
in monetized relationships and I don't think your clients and prospects should go
