The RelationshipNeed some advice on dealing with a client? This section is dedicated to how to best approach your relationship with Mr. and Mrs. Client and, ultimately, how to train them to be better investors. In my opinion, the size of a Financial Advisor’s paycheck depends upon his or her ability to create and maintain long-term relationships. Do you agree? What’s your best relationship story? What suggestions do you have for building relationships? What should or shouldn’t we be doing? How do your clients view you? RSS |

Sales IdeasAs an Advisor, nothing got me as pumped up as a good sales idea. I know now looking back if you have three or four timeless, effective sales ideas, you’ve got all you need. ProspectingNothing is more important than prospecting. Without people to talk to, it really doesn’t matter how good our selling skills are or how much product knowledge we have. It’s also the toughest task we face, because the threat of rejection hangs over our head like Damocles’ sword. Please share your thoughts and ask your questions. What’s working? What isn’t? RSS |

The MarketThe stock market is always a great investment, but the timing never seems right. When it appears too high, clients don’t want to invest because they fear a correction is imminent; and when it is falling, they don’t want to invest because they think they will lose money. Let’s talk about the history of the market, the lessons we can learn from it, and how to best use it to invest today. A general once said that if there is a chance of a disaster, you better have a plan. Do you have a good bear market presentation ready to go in the good times, just in case? How do you deal with the down times? What are your favorite stock market analogies? RSS |

RetirementIn the final analysis, how do you prepare for something you don’t feel will ever happen? Retirement is the ultimate goal, yet we treat it as if it’s light years away. The longer we have to go, the more diminished our vision seems to be. For all those people who don’t approach the subject of retirement planning with the proper gravitas, what should we be telling them? I have no doubt that any Advisor perusing this topic has witnessed some graphic financial tragedies due to poor planning and lack of commitment. Please share with us the good stories and the bad stories so we can arm our clients with firsthand knowledge. RSS |
